Anniversary Evening

We had dinner at the Cascade Dining Room and I gave hubby his present there. The first thing he pulled out of the box was the book.

I had to tell him there was something else in the box. This is him reading the gift certificate from Timberline Mountain Guides.

These two guys are Paul and Nick. Hubby was talking about climbing Mt. Hood after dinner and they asked if he was going up that night because they were. A couple of hours after I took this picture, they were leaving the lodge to climb Mt. Hood. They had perfect weather and we hope they made it! They were planning to make hot chocolate when they reached the summit!

I wonder if he thought, "Jeez I "buy" her ski's and all I get is a book?!" I bet you really surprised him! I'm glad y'all had such a great time.

LOL Brandy! But no, he didn't think that. He didn't want me to get him anything. I was only supposed to get new boots as a present for my three book contract in November, but then came home with skis and poles and told him that was my anniversary gift from him!

But he is thrilled with the gift!!! It was so fun to listen to him talk about climbing with the two guys we met. Of course the scary thing is I knew more about climbing hood than hubby. That's what all that research has done. At least when it's my turn, I'll be somewhat prepared book-wise. The actual doing will, I'm sure, be harder.

When is hubby planning to climb Mt. Hood?

Hmm, can you climb all year round? Can you ski all-year round?

Hubby is planning on May. He was supposed to call today to book it, but I'm guessing he didn't since it was his first day back at work. Not that his vacation kept him from working on the lift rides. Sometimes I hate cellphones!

You can ski year around so I'm guessing you could climb year around, but I assume each season has its own hazards such as ice or rock fall, etc.
