With a huge item checked off my To Do list this past weekend, I can finally focus on the book. On Friday I got an email from my editor. The proposal was accepted with no changes. Of course, that doesn't mean I won't be changing those first three chapters. That always happens as I get deeper into a story and learn more about the characters, but it means I'm on the right track. Huge sigh of relief.
So this morning, I'll reexamine The Plan and amend where I am and where I need to be accordingly. I'll also look at my To Do list since a few things have been ignored for too long and need to get done.
I'll finally have the time even with a deadline. The year is already winding down. I only have two more Monday classes to teach, too, so that will free up a big chunk of time each week.
My Sunday class ended last week. I have to admit, it was nice not having to run to the church last night, set up the Atrium for Sunday night class then after class take it down again. I missed the kids and the actual classroom time, but not all that was involved to get us there. I already told them I'm taking next year off from teaching on Sundays. I've done it for three years and need a break.
And only a month and a half until the kidlets are finished with school. I can't wait until they are home with me! We have lots of plans for the summer. What about you?

Summer plans? Um, laying in the pool. Assuming summer ever gets here.
Reading, writing, light home school (there are potato cannons and trebuchets to be built!), writing, San Fran!, writing, Scout Camps, writing, Tennis lessons, writing, golf lessons, writing, soccer camps....the usual.
Hey, summer is on it's way in the PNW. We actually ate dinner outside on our patio!!!!!
Sounds like some good summer plans, Amy! I have yet to sign the kids up for any camps. I need to talk to them about it.
I am so looking forward to San Francisco. That's going to be like going home for me. I miss living there so much. My current wip is set there so it's been fun writing about the city. Of course, much has changed since I lived there. But I already found a cafe I want to check out. I set the scene where my h/h meet there!
How wonderful about your book proposal! Way to go. I haven't been thinking very much about summer plans. Our family will probably wing it. Thanks,Cindi

YAY on the acceptance of the book proposal!
I think you deserve a break, so good for you for taking next year off on the Sunday class.
As for summer plans? Hmmm, swimming lessons, homeschooling, Scottish games, and whatever comes our way. *G*
Have a pleasant day!
I don't have a break during the summer... so it will be all work!
I have 3 weeks off... I think I will probably be relaxing at home and maybe travel for a few days.
Congrats on the proposal being accepted with No changes :)
Shower and wedding plans will be taking up my summer and getting another daughter ready to move in August for college and who is living off campus.
Congrats on the proposal. Congrats on getting stuff crossed off the To-Do list!
I wanna go to SF. I wanna, wanna, wanna... kicks feet/
Man, I so want to go.
Runs off to buy a Powerball ticket
Congrats on the proposal and being able to cross items off your to-do-list.
I had summer plans but one got screwed up; one is not happening so I'll most likely take spur of the moment trips.
I have a lot of work to do around the house. Need to do some spring cleaning. Need to put some finish on our deck and building. I also have a lot of outside work to do. My son will finish his semester at college this week so I will have to move him back home on Friday. My blogging time will be limited so don't think I have forgotten about you guys. I just have a lot to do right now.
Hi Melissa, That's great your editor liked the proposel. It sounds like you are headed towards a stress free summer with time to get a lot of writing done.
We don't have any summer plans, I wish we had the funds to go see my nieces in Nevada, I haven't seen them forever. We will definitely plan a day trip to Seattle to see the Mariner's, they better start winning. They are not doing good at all.
Yay on the proposal! No changes? Sweet. I'm happy for you.
Our summer plans? Just the usual. Gardening, hiking, grilling and taking it easy. The regular stuff. :)
Love reading everyone else's plans. Now I'm curious to know what a potato cannon is, though!
