We saw Prince Caspian today. The storyline is pretty straightforward, much more so than the first one, but a lot of battle scenes. Pretty much it's a battle movie. Not as much wonder and magic as the first one. The older kids liked it. Rose not so much. She spent most of the movie on my or hubby's lap with her ears covered and her face against our chest. She had no problem with the first one though she'd only seen it on DVD not in the theater. Even Finn was scared at a few parts (and he has no problem with any of the six Star Wars episodes) and the girls (ages 10 and 11) though fine and said it was better than the first didn't like a scene or two, so if you have a sensitive child no matter what the age wait until it comes out on DVD. Seeing some of that stuff on the big screen is just too much for some kids.
Have a great Memorial Day!

Awww, thank you!
I had heard that the newest movie from the Narnia Chronicles was tailored more toward adults. Thanks for posting about it, as Son is sensitive I'll make sure the Out-laws know not to take them.
I hope y'all have a fabulous Memorial Day!
DD is mad! LOL... I just told her I'd have to give serious thought to seeing it or not. She says, "I'm not sensitive!" but, yeah, she is... *sigh*
Thanks!
And, congratulations to Brandy!
wow, I would think a movie that is targeted to kids (or is it?) would have scenes that would be scary.
Congrats Brandy!
I hope you have a pleasant Monday.
Congrats, Brandy.
It seems like it's very rare that a second movie is as good as the first.
Congratulations, Brandy!
Happy Memorial Day, everyone.
Thanks for letting us know about Prince Caspian - I think I'll wait for it to come out on DVD.
Congrats, Brandy!!!
I can't wait to see Prince Caspian but I'll have to wait for the DVD to come out since I can't cope with theaters. Really makes me want one of those 50" LCD HDTVs. *g*
Congrats Brandy.
That's too bad they made it so violent, I'm sure it would have been good w/out so much. I know a lot of parents are going to be upset and there kids disappointed.
Congrats Brandy! I always wait for movies to come on DVD.
Congrats Brandy!
I usually prefer to see the movies on the DVD and not at the theater!
I remember also not liking to go see movies at the theater... just so noisy and the effects can be frightening on a small child.
I have no idea what Narnia is other than it was a series of books...
I enjoyed the movie, but I do feel it's more adult oriented. There's even a romance thread that probably goes over the kids head except for a part at the end.
The kids have been quoting from it all day. They loved one animal character in particular. Even Rose has been doing this so I don't think she was scarred from her viewing/hearing it.
And as I posted my 10 year old and her 11 year old friend who was with it thought this one was much better than the first one!
Congrats to Brandy!
I agree on Caspian: wait for DVD if you can, especially with children. It was darker than the first one, definitely, but 9 didn't have nightmares, so for MOST kids around 9 or 10, it should be okay.
Congrats to the Brandy! My kids are under 5 so hubby and I are going to see Prince Caspian on our anniversary vacation when they are being watched by my twin sister and mother.
It's, um, been a trying week here. Did I send you my email? *G*
Hope the writing is going well today!
