Pet Wars

humorous pictures
more cat pictures

The cats continue to hiss and growl at Chaos. It's getting a bit annoying. Okay, the dog is big, in their space, eaten their food a couple of times. I'd be a little peeved myself. But still enough is enough. Get over it. The dog is not going away.

We made a tiny bit of progress though. Both Spirit and Chaos slept on the bed while I worked this afternoon. It was so nice to see and quiet. I wished I'd had my camera handy. Unfortunately as soon as I got out of bed to go get the camera, both woke up and let's just say the moment was over. I keep telling myself... baby steps. Just like with Crossfit.

Thinking about pets led me to this quiz:

You Would Be a Pet Rabbit

Playful and hyper, you enjoy being around other people... as long as everyone's having fun.

You are easily bored, and you almost always need some sort of entertainment.

If you're not keeping busy, then you're apt to get in some sort of trouble!

Why you would make a great pet: You're very entertaining, even when you're not trying to be

Why you would make a bad pet: Well, personal hygiene isn't exactly your thing... you kind of smell sometimes

What you would love about being a rabbit: Playtime... and eating flowers

What you would hate about being a rabbit: Being held like a toy

LOL at the picture.

Before you know it, all of them will be best friends.

You Would Be a Pet Bird

You're intelligent and witty, yet surprisingly low maintenance.
You charm people easily, and they usually love you a lot more than you love them.
You resent anyone who tries to own or control you. You refuse to be fenced in.

Why you would make a great pet: You're very smart and entertaining

Why you would make a bad pet: You're not interested in being anyone's pet!

What you would love about being a bird: Flying, obviously

What you would hate about being a bird: Being caged

It's Wednesday and the work week is half over.

Have a good day.

All progress is good progress, I think. No fur flying? All good. :)

Isn't that picture perfect, Dru. I just love icanhascheezburger! Then again I am a crazy cat lady.

I like your bird pet description!

I think you're right Sarita. As long as fur isn't flying we're doing okay!!!

As far as the dog/cat thing...they'll work it out. YT still hisses at Indy, and apparently, she took a swipe at the dog the other day and set the dog off to chasing her. But the cats have a "safe place" where the dog can't go, so she just ran there.

You can train a cat, BTW: Indy has trained the cats to stay away from her kennel, her toys and her food.

Bailey and Breeann (my cat) were the best of friends, but Dakota and Breeann? Not so much. We've had 'kota for five months, and the cat still growls, hisses and swats. I don't think that's going to change, and it's entirely the cat's problem. Dakota isn't rambunctious with her any more, and is actually quite calm, but as soon as she gets within about 3 feet of the cat? The growling starts.

**sigh**

Hope you have better luck than I have had!

I may have to do that quiz tomorrow!

Only time will tell if the cats attitudes will mellow. I have 2 cats that fuss and fight constantly. But, then again, one of those has an ATTITUDE. *G*

Love the pic!

Have a good day!

How fun - I would be a pet cat too! and since nobody else has included it... the quiz says:
Independent and aloof, you don't like to be dependent on anyone.
And as for other people, you can take them or leave them. You often don't care.
You live your life by your own rules. And you have deep motivations that no one truly understands.

Why you would make a great pet: You're not needy or greedy... unlike other four legged friends.

Why you would make a bad pet: You're not exactly running down to greet people at the door

What you would love about being a cat: Agility and freedom

What you would hate about being a cat: Being treated like a dog by clueless humans

You Would Be a Pet Dog

You're friendly, loyal, and an all around good sport. People love to be near you.
You are very open with your feelings, and you're quite vocal in expressing them.
You are sincere and kind. You love many people - without any sort of agenda.

Why you would make a great pet: You're content to chill out with your friends

Why you would make a bad pet: You always find yourself getting into trouble

What you would love about being a dog: Running around and playing

What you would hate about being a dog: Being left home alone while everyone else is out having fun.

I think it nailed me lol!!

Your animals just need more time - they'll come around. They may never be best friends, but they'll learn to tolerate each other.

I hope it get better for your animals Melissa. I have a dog and two cats. When we got our cat Bailey 8 years ago (we had 3 cats then)she got along with the oldest cat, that has passed away a year ago, but not our other one. Sadly after all this time they still don't? Our dog we get 2 years ago and she gets hissed at once in awhile when she's bugging them, but it has gotten easier over time. If Cinny wouldn't chase them peace would be achieved, lol.

Cats and dogs usually don't mix unless they are raised up together, but sometimes it works out. Good Luck I am sure it will get better.
