I've really been enjoying the Olympics, but I just can't stay up that late anymore. I'm glad gymnastics is over except for the exhibition by the champions. There are other sports I still want to watch, but a decent bedtime is more important right now.
Yesterday afternoon, I was on the bed with Spirit. Chaos jumped up and was right next to me and the cat. Needless to say, Spirit was not a happy girl. She doesn't mind sharing the bed with the dog if they are on opposite sides, but she wasn't about to let Chaos so close. Without a warning, not even a growl, she took her paw to Chaos hind quarters. Bad kitty! But I had to laugh this morning when I saw this picture:

This continues to be the kitties excuse when they get in trouble. Yes, iKitty-Dog war continues. Rocket and Chaos are doing much better since the cat realized running was a bad idea. They will even sleep in the bathroom (tile floor that is cool) and be only a few feet apart (with Rocket higher, of course, which brings back memories of Star Wars ROTS and Obi-Wan telling Anakin it was over because he had the high ground!) Smalls continues to avoid the dog at all costs, but she will join the other two cats on the bed now if I'm there. I'm coming to the realization this is just how life will be from now on. No cute pictures of all my fur babies cuddled together for naps. No family portraits with all nine of us. But I can live with that.
I just realized this is a really random post! Olympics, pets, I guess the only thing left to discuss is weather.
The heat wave has finally broken here and we're back to overcast skies and rain. Lots and lots of rain. How are things in your corner of the world?

I love that poster. Just look at his eyes - he's daring you to say anything, just one word. LOL!
I've been taping the Olympics and watching it on fast forward before I go to work.
Sounds like your furbabies will co-exist for now, but you never know, maybe they will be one cohesive family yet.
Have a good Wednesday.
Isn't that a great picture! I saw it and just laughed. Seriously, icanhascheezburger is one of my fave places on the Internet. I page through the pictures and just laugh my head off. Hubby thinks I've totally lost it. I'll say look at this one. And he'll say it's a cat. He just doesn't get it. Either that, or I'm easily amused!
Good luck today!
Great photo. Here the weather is getting hotter every day, so we are having hot humid days right now with no rain in site. We are in need of rain. We havn't had any rain for several weeks now, so send some of your rain to KY.
What a great picture, lol!
My cat will allow the dog to be close to her when it's HER idea. Sometimes she'll walk right in front of the dog, and drag her tail along the dogs face. But let the dog initiate the space invasion and it's all over.
They'll work it out.
All great topics. I love the pic. My oldest cat that just passed had the most gorgeous green eyes but she also could give the nastiest looks ever - my nickname for her was green eyed hissy face.
We've been having a lot of visits from our grand puppy and with 6 of my own cats, there's always some kind of commotion. It actually does get better though. They mostly tolerate each other and the dog has stopped chasing every cat every time she sees one.
Melissa, cats sulk, easily. And with a longevity that would surprise you. *G* Even with the 7 kitties we have, there are some that don't get along. (Layla detests Butterscotch and Athena. *shrugs*) No clue why. *g* Don't feel bad! And you are more than welcome to send some of that rain here, please!
Have a sensational day!
The cats and dog will allow themselves to be close if there is sleeping involved. And by close, I mean at least 3 feet apart.
But if they're both fully awake all bets are off.
If it's going to rain the least the schools could is move up their start date.
Laughing, thank you! That photo is great!
Things here are all good. Busy, but good. Enjoying having my dad with us. Scary how the days are flying by, though.
Hope you're having a nice week. :)
Awwweee - maybe at some point they'll all get along. And I love that pic! I should go to lolcats and click around more often...
