My Monday didn't turn out as planned. I got a few pages revised, but that's it.
My oldest got braces back in December and was excited to have the colors switched out again yesterday morning. So far she's had red and green in honor of Christmas and pink in honor of St. Valentine's and wanted green for St. Patrick's day. She got the green, but they also put on some different bands and this time included her back molars.
She was in tears most of the day. Couldn't eat. Couldn't sleep. It was horrible. Nothing would help the pain.
Last night, she lay in her bed sobbing. I brought her into my bed and gave her some Nyquil. Bad mommy, I know, but I was desperate. I remember what it feels like even though that was decades ago! She fell asleep with Chaos at her side and is still sleeping now with the dog back at her side. I'm just praying she feels better today.

Oh that's horrible. Both my daughters had braces but I don't remember them ever being in that much pain. Maybe they need loosened just a tad. Hope she's better today!!!
Ni Melissa, After having 4 girls in braces I feel your and her pain. Hope she is doing better today? What I found helpful was staying ahead of the pain cycle by keeping Ibuprofen, or Tylenol in their system according to proper dosage. Waiting until its starts to hurt again just made it harder to get relief.48 hrs and the worse should be over. COld food, drinks also seemed to help my daughters. Have to ask what dance school are you with now? Know the move couldn't have been easy but wish her happiness in her dancing wherever she is. All the best, Ellen

Ellen - my husband got stuff for smoothies and those helped. Thanks for all the tips. We are now dancing with Comerford Portland. It's been a good move for all the kids, though Mackenna is the reason we made it. She needed a change of environment. Thanks!
Braces HURT. I remember mine... and getting the wires tightened was awful every time. I'm sorry she was hurting so badly...
