SOS, MARRY ME!
THE WEDDING PLANNERS BOOK #3

Working on The Wedding Planners continuity with five of my friends was a total blast. The six of authors–Shirley Jump, Myrna Mackenzie, me, Linda Goodnight, Susan Meier, Melissa James–belonged to a yahoogroup that was started after Silhouette Romance merged with Harlequin Romance and had become friends. Shirley Jump came up with the idea of us doing a continuity series together. and even provided the first scene. We loved the idea of friends writing about friends. All we needed was something to tie the six books together.

Enter The Wedding Belles.

We did all the brainstorming and planning via email and the yahoogroup. Soon we had it all down and proposed a six book continuity about a group of Boston-based wedding planners. Harlequin bought it and the first book, Sweetheart Lost and Found hits the shelf in April.

If you want to know what I went through writing SOS MARRY ME, be sure to check my diary archives between February 2007 and June 1st.

I did some fun research with this book. I loved looking at all the different wedding gowns out to get a feel for what my heroine would design. My wonderful critique partner, Virginia Kantra, was a mother-of-the-bride and planning her daughter's wedding as I was writing this story so she provided so much information and help.

I also had a bit of an adventure setting up the crash landing and rescue of the hero and heroine. A few of the people who helped with my research: forest Service employees at the Clearwater National Forest, a county sheriff in Idaho and a detective in Montana who run their respective search and rescue groups, a member of Portland Mountain Rescue in Oregon, a professional pilot, and a couple on-line climbing friends, one who had to be rescued in New Hampshire.

UPCOMING

Rescued by the Magic of Christmas will be a Harlequin Romance December 2008 release. This story was inspired by a climbing tragedy on Mount Hood that occurred in December 2006. I also discovered fell in love with rock climbing while researching this book!

I'm currently working on a Harlequin Romance trilogy, Blinddatebrides.com, with authors Jennie Adams and Fiona Harper. The three books will be out starting in mid 2009. I'm book #3 and the working title is Unexpectedly Right. My book is set in San Francisco, a city near and dear to my heart since I used to live in the Marina District.
